Jan Franke

Offshore Engineer & Hardware Developer

Jan spend his early years working as a student researcher at the Leibniz-Institute for Materials Engineering - IWT in Bremen with the focus on steel hardening processes. After graduation in mechanical engineering (with a focus on material science) at the University of Bremen he stayed in the world of science and started to work as a research engineer at the BIK - Institute for Integrated Product Development which is also an institute of the University of Bremen. During that time he was mostly working on automation solutions for wind turbine rotor-blade production. That included the development of robot tools for the handling of the materials used in composites and also got him deep into CAD works.

At flucto Jan is using his experience from his days at the university for developing the necessary hardware around all the flucto scopes and keeps an eye on the manufacturing of the flucto sensors and data management devices. In addition to this, he also goes offshore for maintaining and operating the flucto systems aboard the vessels.
