flucto's tech stack

Flucto has developed a data software stack to combine, process and display necessary data, either directly measured with our bespoke optical pile tracking system or gathered from third-party equipment connected to the motion sensor boxes.

flucto dashboard

Using flucto's software stack, we can display a customized view of all important data to any stakeholder. Live and accurate data is the foundation for a successful, cost-effective and precise operation. Flucto's ability to extract data from any industry standard protocol and OEM tool allows us to digitize the operations to the extend you need.

At the core of flucto's hardware technology stack are open-source motion sensor boxes, developed together with the University of Bremen.
Each motion sensor box features a powerful single-board computer, GNSS, Wi-Fi, a 3D-camera, survey grade MRU and connectivity to industry standard connectors.

The broad range of connectivity protocols allow for an easy integration of the motion sensor boxes into different scenarios, both short and long range. The powerful, 6-core single-board-computer enables real-time sensor data fusion and image processing. The motion sensor boxes are designed with openness and accessibility in mind; hence, all code and design files to build and use the motion sensor boxes are available on Github.

optical pile tracking

Flucto has developed a novel technique to monitor the pile drive using optical features on the pile. The optical pile tracking allows for a precise tracking of the pile drive with no latency of the data without the need of new dedicated markers on the pile itself. Since flucto's motion sensor boxes incorporate a survey grade motion reference unit (MRU) the pile tracking can also be used on moving-vessels since the tracking is corrected for vessel motion.

optical pile tracking

Every important parameter of the pile driving can be displayed in real time using flucto's pile driving interface that can also display third party data.
The piling interface is hosted on each installation vessel but may also be accessed via the internet to offer the supporting team onshore updates on the operation.

The piling interface is not limited to piling operations. Every other operation may be digitized and monitored using flucto's technology stack.

from prototype to product

A motion sensor box prototype, developed by university of Bremen during a research project and deployed in the North Sea during the installation of the offshore wind farm Trianel Windpark Borkum II. In the project, the installation of all 32 turbines was tracked using motion sensor boxes. These motion sensor box prototypes lacked the connectivity available in flucto's motion sensor boxes today, but revealed the great potential of improving offshore wind farm installations with measurements. The data recorded with these motion sensor boxes was used to measure the actual weather installation limits. Further, the effectiveness of a tuned mass damper for single blade installation was quantified.
